Pre-Ordered Jay Chou New Album “Capricorn”

by Navlem on Sep.26, 2008, under Misc

OK Jay’s new album is releasing soon, and i’ve pre-ordered it from a shop nearby my house. The album will be entitled “Capricorn” which is Jay’s zodiac sign, which is also mine :P

I’ve also listened to a preview of a song which literally means “Paddy Fragrance” and the song is about being contented with what you have now. It sounds really good and I really expected alot from this album. Here is the MV and preview of the song itself. Very meaningful MV :)

Safe Singapore is not so safe anymore

by Navlem on Sep.21, 2008, under Misc

Always thought that Singapore is free from natural disaster? Now research has shown that Singapore is at risk. Tsunamis can hit Singapore.

Here is the News article about it.

SINGAPORE — Singapore is not completely immune from a tsunami and should prepare for the possibility, an expert on coastal areas warned Friday.

The island—state can be hit by a tsunami generated from three locations and the waves could damage key coastal infrastructure without being too high, said Professor Wong Poh Poh of the National University of Singapore geography department.

“It’s not that we are totally immune. No, we are not immune,” Wong said.

He was speaking at a news conference to launch a report, by the aid and development organisation World Vision, on the impact of climate change on poor people.

To cause damage, waves hitting Singapore need not be as huge as the ones that devastated Indonesia’s Aceh in December 2004, killing 168,000 people, Wong said.

Aceh was struck by a wave about 10 metres (33 feet) high.

“We don’t need 10 metres. The problem with Singapore is… we have a lot of infrastructure on the coast. All you need is a very low wave to just come in and hit certain areas,” he said.

“Changi Airport will be very vulnerable,” he said, adding the man—made island of Jurong which houses a sprawling petrochemical complex is also at risk, and urged the government to commission a study on tsunamis. — AFP/vm

I came back from the Class Chalet yesterday morning, didn’t sleep at all in the chalet, was super tired, after I reached home I just bathe and slept until evening. The chalet was quite fun. I didn’t bring my camera this time though. So the pics you see will be pics taken by other people. Currently only Ruby sent me the photos, so I will post some of it here, Enjoy!

Very Fun Top1 Session

by Navlem on Sep.12, 2008, under Misc

Today’s Top1 session is very special.

Most of my Pre-level friends in music course came except for Alicia, because she was working so she couldn’t attend. Anthony came along too.

We had lots of fun, and we sang songs we never sang before. Before we leave Top1, we managed to squeeze in some time to record 2 songs we sang as a group, it was so well done that we could just submit this to a recording company and get them to sign us up :P

Too bad my MP3 player microphone wasn’t too good so the recording was distorted abit. But nevertheless good enough to listen to. We sang “Tong Hua” and “Yue Ding”

You all can start guessing which is me :P

Will post the songs up soon enough, when Benjamin help me edit the song abit to remove the distortion. Check back for them!

Here is “Yue Ding” edited by Benjamin already, he will be finishing up “Tong Hua” by tomorrow.

Site Error

by Navlem on Sep.09, 2008, under Misc

If you noticed, that yesterday my site had this “Bandwidth Limit Exceeded” error when I still have alot of bandwidth left in my server, it was some configuration problem due to the server upgrade. Do not worry as it affects only my blog, all other sites remained functional. It might occur again until we found the root of the problem.

Some Food for Thought

by Navlem on Sep.06, 2008, under Misc

Today’s Music lesson was quite bad, I’m bad at singing oldies, plus I keep forgetting lyrics and the tune. From now on instead of listening to music from my era i better listen more oldies.

Anyway, I was thinking about how often Singaporeans complain about ERP and COE. I personally think it is a very good implementation by the government. I came across countries where cars do not have to worry about ERP and COE, and the results turns out this way :

Another Boring Day..

by Navlem on Sep.05, 2008, under Misc

Today in Tourism class teacher gave us some past year papers and hope we could use it as a guide for the exams next week. She went through very quickly as time was running out.

But anyway in school Ridzuan turned up to give teacher the money for the ticket for her pageant. Najib also going for the pageant. I will be morally supporting teacher by voting for her via sms and emails.

Just saw this little test and I tried it out, it seems fun, you guys might wanna try it out too :P
