Final Fantasy XIII photoshoot

July 20th, 2011 Comments (0)

Last Sunday I met up with Elie and a new friend, Joann, to do a Final Fantasy XIII photoshoot. They called along a photographer who is known as “Ryusei” who uses the camera I previously used, the Sony A700.

We met at Harbourfront/Vivocity and made our way to “Telok Blanga Hill Park” to actually walk the “Henderson Bridge” which I’ve heard of for a long time but didn’t really get to walk on it yet. So it was a first time experience for me. :)

It was quite a hot and sunny day and there were many people there. The shoot was quite tough for me due to the lack of a standard zoom lens or any wide angle lens. The widest I had on that day was 50mm. In the end I changed to my telephoto lens and used it for the rest of the day.

Elie cosplayed as Lightning and Joann cosplayed as Serah. I think they did a great job cosplaying them but I didn’t produce the results I expected. So I was actually hoping that Ryusei would provide them with the nicer shots. :D

Here are some of the pictures taken that day.

Countdown 2011 @ Marina Boulevard

January 1st, 2011 Comments (0)

It has been ages since I have updated my blog! Due to the lack of internet connection in Taiwan, I have to slow down on my blog updates. But i’m back in Singapore now and i’ll start posting abit. I need to fly back to Taiwan on the 6th of January because i’m only back for a short holiday.

My trip back to Singapore was quite a busy one. I had to meet up with friends and family and try to cater time for everybody and to settle my stuff also. I also managed to squeeze in time for photoshoot since i’m back during the holiday season. So I went to shoot Raffles place MRT station to meet Edmund and Benjamin around 4pm. We made our way to the Marina Boulevard to start getting all the good spots before it gets crowded. After many many hours of waiting and shooting candids, we finally ended our shoot at 2am :S

Enough of talking, here are the shots!

Street Shooting

October 25th, 2010 Comments (0)

It has been awhile since I have done street shooting. Now that Ming Hao also have his DSLR, we went to Hsinchu to try street shooting so he can have some hands on with his new camera too.

Didn’t have much good shots as the lighting was quite bad at that time. In the end I edited only one shot.

I went to Taipei a fortnight ago and had quite alot of fun there. We had lunch on Sunday in this restaurant called “Modern Toilet”. I read about it through Faith’s blog before when she talked about her trip to HK. Didn’t know Taiwan has got this thing too. Here are some shots of Richie and of the restaurant. :)

Blog down

October 2nd, 2010 Comments (0)

My blog was down for a few weeks when I had no internet access in Taiwan. I managed to rebuild it from scratch and used the latest SQL backup I had. But I lost many of my posts, especially of those about Taiwan. I will start to post again about my time here. So keep checking back for more!

Running around

June 21st, 2010 Comments (0)

Didn’t book in yesterday beacuse I’m going to Nee Soon Camp directly today in the morning for dental FFI for my overseas posting. After the FFI, I took a bus to Sembawang Camp to submit my FFI results.

So in the end i book in Kranji Camp 3 around 11am. In the afternoon I have a Medical Appointment in NUH with the podiatry. So I left camp for home around 2pm and Daddy fetched me to the hospital. My first appointment in the podiatry turned out to be a scary one. The doctor asked me to sit on that weird chair and suddenly she started using some needle to dig my toenail and take some thick wirecutter-like thingy and start to cut and prune.I keep howling in pain and helplessly watch my blood flow out and she kept saying sorry. I asked her why never put anesthetic she said it was a some sort of a minor pruning thingy so not considered a surgery, thus there is no need for injections. The whole process took half an hour. It was scary and painful but I hope it will cure this time round.

Very tired these few days.

Did not slept at all last night. Talked to Deric on MSN the entire night, until around 4am he told me to go out shoot sunrise with him. He said after the sunrise he will be attending an photography outing from CS. So he asked me to join him. So I agreed. So didn’t managed to sleep. But I managed to shoot a nice morning picture and made a few friends. :)

Montage 2010

June 6th, 2010 Comments (0)

Woke up early to have my haircut, otherwise will kena extra in camp.

Edmund came over around 11am, to take his new Sony Ericsson G700 phone and to go with me to a photography seminar. The seminar is called “Montage 2010″

The seminar starts from 1.30pm and last all the way until 6.30pm. What a long long seminar, Edmund even fell asleep, Deric almost fell asleep. Haha

But the seminar is interesting to me, because of the second speaker, Kelvin Koh. He is one of Singapore’s best wedding photographer and his speech inspired me.

Another speaker, Felix Hug, is also very very good. But his speeches talk more about his experiences while shooting instead of sharing the knowledge with us.

Overall I felt I did learn something from the seminar. Especially from Kelvin Koh. I hope I can shoot better in future.
